Let's Review and Renew for 2018 Together!
Hi mershmellow
I love your renews! When I didn't have time to read I tried books on tape. LOL yes I am that old.
Don't laugh but one of the BEST stress relievers for me was boxing. Hitting a bag was GREAT! If your gym has one try it you may like it
Happy New Year!

Audio books don't work for me. My mind wanders and I lose track of what's going on, LOL. I have a BUNCH of friends who adore them while knitting, driving, or working out so I know other people don't have my problem. :D
I really really miss Krav Maga for stress relief. Knocking the crap out of a guy half again bigger than me is SO empowering AND stress relieving. ;) With my joint issues I won't be able to go back to that, but I may be able to handle some bag work. I HIGHLY recommend some sort of boxing/martial arts for stress relief.

I've always loved the coming of a new year. I always feel like my hourglass is being turned over and I am getting a fresh start to either "fix" areas I am unhappy with, or to start a new goal or journey with something or other. I had my surgery in 2012 and 5 years later I am still chugging along and feeling fabulous! I have never had one single regret and I too, try to refrain from making resolutions. I realize that I will always be in a constant state of evolving and I know that despite what so many people think, surgery was NOT a quick fix or easy way out. Maintenance is hard work but the chance to take charge of my health is something I looked forward to, just like each new year. My review and renew for 2018:
- Refrain from my shopping addiction so that I can save and retire from my 9-5 to pursue my passion!
- Keep working on my personal and fitness goals to get to the body goals I've set for myself
- Spend more time in my sewing room and try to complete at least 1 project every 3 months
- Start a local support group and mentor young women (education/fitness/self esteem
- Get back to reading more and watching TV less
- Get a handle on drinking more water...yes, I still struggle horribly with this!
- Limit my social media interaction. My husband would soooooo love this... :)
Hi msbutterfly23,
What a wonderful way of looking at the New Year! If you don't have one try one of these metal water bottles that keep the water cold forever Carry it with you everywhere and you will get your water in. Try it, you will Love it!
Happy New Year!

Congrats on the new addition to the family? Do you have any knitting patterns picked out yet? I'm working on a stupidly easy striped blanket for a friend who's due in February!
Here's my list!
- Track my food every day, missing no more than 2 days/month
- Go to the gym (LA Fitness at night, or gym at work during lunch) 3+ days a week
- Ride 1779 miles on my bike in 2018 (the distance from Hobbiton to Mt. Doom)
- Complete a century ride-- 100 miles in a single day
- Participate in another triathlon and beat my previous time (2:08)
- Integrate journaling and reflection more into my daily life. I've got a really nifty planner on order, and I'm really looking forward to working with it. I have OCD and writing things down is a HUGE mental help!

Hi Julie,
Not yet, waiting to see what theme colors my DIL plan on. I have knitted a hedgehog one and the most challenging was someone that loved flannel and wanted bears and moose. LOL, yes you read that right. It was a trip. I have photos somewhere.
The planner sounds interesting be sure and let us know how it works for you
Happy New Year!

Have you ever heard of Bullet Journal? It's a planning method that's been awesome for me thanks to its flexibility. I won't bore you with all the details though :P

I've looked into it, and it's definitely an option. I think having some structure will be a bit easier for me to tackle, but I'll keep bullet journaling as a fallback!
