I HATED the coming of the New Year most of my life. It was a reminder that once again I failed at my #1 resolution, lose weight and get healthy. Sure..... When I had surgery in 2004 and was facing the New Year in 2005 it was the most amazing feeling EVER. Starting 2006 and for the first time in my life not feeling like a failure after reaching my weight loss goal.

To this day I don't do resolutions, but do look back at the year and REVIEW AND RENEW!

Join me in sharing your Review and Renew for the year of 2018

  • Spend less save more
  • Get into a routine workout wise instead of hit and miss
  • Make an adventure list to enjoy what this wonderful state has to offer
  • Clock more miles on my bike
  • Start Kayaking
  • Spend more time with my boys
  • Start knitting for our little girl that is coming in June

With all the health problems that snowballed this fall/winter along with finishing my last classes in my master's program (I are a gra-d-oo-ate), I quit focusing on my habits and have stalled out SO CLOSE to my goal. I know that it's very do-able even though I'm pretty much out of the "honeymoon phase". I have managed to maintain pretty well through the holidays, which I will give myself props for. :)

So my goals for the new year are:

  • get back to the pool/gym 2x/week
  • start walking 3x/week
  • walk another 5K in 2018 (or more...)
  • log my food daily
  • hit my protein and water goals consistently (at least 5 days/week)
  • work on my backlog of knitting projects
  • read at least 2 books a month
  • spend more time with family and friends

Thanks! I don't know what I'm going to do with my free time! I calculated I've been in school without any real breaks, while working full time and nominally raising my kiddo, since 2007 or 2008 now. I spent the holiday weekend feeling like I was forgetting to do something!!

I spent 8 years going to school part-time while working full-time and raising a child. It takes a lot out of you. Congratulations on graduating!

  • MAKE time for the gym. Work can't be an excuse, even though I'm still adjusting to how physically demanding my work is.
  • Read more. I adore reading, but I find myself zoning out in my free time.
  • Work on ways to calm down and not let my emotions ruin my day at times.
  • Be more proactive at cleaning so that I don't hate myself when I finally do it.
  • Log everyday! I log most days, but every once in awhile I miss a couple days and get upset that I broke my streak.
