Be a little kinder
Good morning WLS folks.
I just saw a news alert that someone jumped in front of a train here in DC. It makes my heart sad that there are people who are suffering so much in this holiday season.
I feel so blessed this year. I had RNY on February 28th and have regained health and strength and so much more.
I know that some of you out there in OH Land are suffering too. You have mentioned losing friends and loved ones and there are others who are struggling with adjusting to your WLS.
For those of you who are able, I encourage you to show a little extra kindness in this season. Reach out and be gentle with folks.
Also remember to be gentle and kind with yourself. WLS and the life that comes with it can be really hard. The holidays are full of food and temptations that make a healthy lifestyle difficult. Remember to be protein forward and to drink lots of fluids. Avoid alcohol because it isn't your friend. And remember that tomorrow is another day. Even if you slip and eat something that isn't on plan, you can start again. You have the tools to be healthy. You have your friends here on OH who know exactly what you are going through. Use your tools and you can get through this!
Wishing you all a peaceful season!

Thank you for reminding us of this. And might I suggest that we carry at least a shadow of this with us throughout the year. You never know how a kind word or smile will touch someone.
