You do not have to call them and tell them. However, especially in the age of electronic medical records, there is no way you will be able to conceal it.
You have a couple of issues here. One is that WLS is considered a preexisting condition. Two is that you now need treatment for medical issues.
I understand you are concerned, but you are putting the cart before the horse.
Gallbladders go kerplunk even in thin people who have never had WLS. Go to the doctor and get it sorted. There is no reputable surgeon or gastroenterologist who will remove your GB without doing everything in his or her power to be certain it will be covered.
As to your GERD, that may well be denied if it is determined to be due to WLS.
Yes, you could face some bills, and will likely have to pay some out of pocket. That does not mean you will be financially ruined. It would be easier for you to plan if you went to the doctor, had a treatment plan, and knew what your cost might be.
