Ursodiol
My surgeon requires patient who still have their gallbladder to take this medicine 2x/day for 6 months to prevent gallbladder issues. The side effects are scary. I started it today but was wondering if anyone experienced any major side effect from it while taking it. Thanks.
I took it and had zero issues.

I really haven't heard of anyone with side effects from this. I broke out in hives two weeks after surgery which the PA immediately thought might be from the ursodiol (as that's a possible side effect), but then he told me to stay off it for a week or two and then try to gradually back on. I did, and no hives the second time around - so it most likely wasn't a reaction to the ursodiol (I'm not sure what it was - who knows - but the hives never came back).
I took it for 6 months and had no problems.

I took it. No issues (and I still have my gallbladder). Almost all prescription (and many over the counter) drugs have scary possible side-effects.
