DX codes for Post Op Dexa Scan?

Is this being ordered by your doctor for bone density? If so, your doctor should be able to give you the right code.
I got a Dexa scan for my own curiosity to see what my body fat vs. lean tissue percentages were, but since it was not a request from my doctor I paid for it myself. Living near Los Angeles helps as it was only $45.
That would depend what the Dexascan is for. Bone density it wouldn't matter if you had WLS or not. Unless you are young and the insurance won't pay for it before a certain age.
Although the same machine a medical Dexascan won't do body fat and as far as I know, no insurance pays for it.

The provider is a functional medicine ARNP and she is ordering the Dexa Scan (for bone density) at my request. My last one was in 2012. She has no clue as to the DX code. Generally the insurance will pay for Dexa Scans but she was hoping to put the correct codes on the order to help this process.
i will keep hunting around to see if I can find anything. Thank you for the responses!! ?
Yes the codes have changed to ICD-10. I am medical coder and can help you find any DX codes you would need under the new classification system.
