Greek Yogurt vs Greek Style Yogurt

One of our go to foods is greek yogurt due to the high protein content. If you are starting out be sure and check your labels. You want only 2 ingredients in your yogurt. Milk and live, active yogurt cultures. Greek "style" yogurt has fillers to thicken the yogurt like gelatin and corn starch, then they have to add protein in like whey and milk protein and you still don't have as much protein and the Greek Yogurt.

So be sure and check out your labels and get that protein in

What is your favorite greek yogurt? Mine is Fage!

Nounos yogurts are my favorite, followed by Chobani.

My son turned me onto Siggis, which is "Icelandic" style.

I have been making homemade greek yogurt with my Instant pot. Sometimes I eat it plain, no sweeteners or flavors!!

I need to try this as everyone says you will never buy store bought again....

I hesitate as I am only a person of one and fear it would spoil before I could eat it all

I felt that way too, so I decreased the size of the batch. I use 2% milk, it keeps for 2 weeks for me if it lasts that long! Now my sons have found they like it.

That's it. I have to try this. I love my instant pot, but have never tried yogurt. Any pointers or tips you can share? I've been scared to death of trying this.

I followed the directions it came with. Worked out better than the old recipe I tried using the crock pot. I use cheese cloth to strain it, to make it really thick. I give the strained liquid to the dogs, they love it!
