A gross TMI not fun NSV

Yes! Pap smears are important! My sister is a gyn oncologist. She has taught me that cervical cancer is a young woman's cancer, and that it is especially awful. Almost any woman who has had sex, even with one partner, is at risk. Take care of yourself and get regular Pap smears.
My periods are terrible. I also have to make ER visits a couple times a year from ovary cysts bursting/breaking. It is so terrible that I literally cannot walk without screaming in pain. A couple of times doctors though my appendix burst. I take birth control to calm things down. Hopefully after surgery my periods will be better.

I hope so too! That sounds so awful. I hope it all gets better for you.
I can relate. Glad your are getting healthy enough for your cycles to become regular. Sympathize for the same reasons. That is one benefit of being as old as I am. No more for me!
I agree with the other posters. Talk with your GYN about different birth control methods (assuming you don't want to get pregnant soon). I used to get the depo shot back in the day and my periods became non-existent.

A shot would be nice. I don't want to deal with a pill every day!
Well it's good that you're regular & trackable. I think it makes it easier when you want to get your labs like iron checked & not worry about false/misleading results. The cramps do suck, I get back pain too, ya know to add to the suckiness of it all.
No one surgery is better than the other, what works for one may not work for another. T-Rebel
My sister (non-obese) would have debilating cramps which required heating pads and missing school. It was not an act.
There wasn't resolution until she got on YAZ and picked the "never have a period" option.
You might want to consider this.
*Note-if you are still obese, this pill may NOT be providing enough hormones to be effective a birth control. If you want to use it as such...you may have to speak with your physician.

Thanks! I am still obese but I am not looking to actually use birth control for that purpose. Just better periods. I will look into Yaz
