My mentrual cycle is finally trackable. It's been on time for the last three months while this is great it's also awful that I am having a period EVERY month and the cramps are going to be the end of me.

I used to have really bad cramps, but I don't know if it's just because I'm older or because of the weight loss, but my periods have gotten a bit easier. I was worried about the no NSAIDs after surgery because I'd usually take 3 Ibuprofen a couple of times a day on the first couple days, but Tylenol does the trick and sometimes I don't even bother with that. Another thing is that it's a lot less messy and shorter, I think because things just kind of slide out easier without all of that visceral fat pressing down on the uterus.

Yay for being able to track though! I am super regular and keep track of mine on my iPhone Health app. Kind of bummed to see that the next one is due the day of my company's holiday party. :(

I have PCOS and have dealt with horrible periods my whole life. The good news is that they are getting better with my weight loss. Hopefully yours will too.

If you are not planning on having children for a while you should think about an IUD. I had one placed almost a year ago and my period is very minimal (2 days of spotting) it took about 3 months for it to get to this point.

Hope it all gets figured out.

Seconding the IUD! I used to have debilitating cramps, but they stopped when I got an IUD-- I went with Mirena. I spotted for the first few months, then the periods stopped completely, and the cramps along with them.

Fair warning, it hurts like a MOFO going in, but it's well worth one day of cramps!

Does a doctor put it in?

Yup, your gynecologist does it. The doctor uses a speculum to open things up and then pops it in; it feels very similar to having a pap smear done.

I've never had a pap smear. I really need to. I don't have a gynecologist either. Guess it's time to look!

They can do both procedures at the same time! It's uncomfortable, but at least it's quick, and it's definitely important to do.
