Antibiotics and Weight Gain
on 11/12/17 6:41 am
I am on antibiotics and I noticed that my weight shot up 2 pounds since I started the medication. Have you had this experience with antibiotics as well?
Are you constipated? My BM changes when I am on any antibiotics. Antibiotics kills all bacteria even the ones in our guts that help us with digestion and BM.

Another possibility is inflammation. The reason you are on the antibiotics might be causing swelling (which can mimic weight gain). I have severe lymphodema and get cellulitis on a regular basis. I can "gain" up to 10 pounds when I have a severe episode.

I have no noticed weight increase from antibiotics, although sometimes the reason I'm taking antibiotics causes my weight to increase!
