I take all my vitamins daily and was thinking about adding magnesium. What kind should I buy and how much and when do I need to take this?

Thanks!

I take a 400 mg magnesium capsule at night otherwise I get terrible foot, calf, and sometimes hand cramps. It keeps those away. The ones I have now are magnesium oxide. The last bottle I had was magnesium citrate. I ought to know since I'm ingesting them, but I'm not sure which is preferred.

A BIG fyi here: Magnesium Oxide is a natural "laxative", which is exactly why I take it. My super high protein diet backs me up horribly - I take 800mg 2x day to stay regular. (Phillips Milk of Magnesia is MO).

Point being: if you don't need a laxative might want to research your magnesiums.
