Muscle Spasms in hands, arms, legs and feet.

I'm having horrible muscle spasms. I'm taking magnesium , eating bananas for potassium, and soaking in epson salts but still have a few each day in both right and left ands and in right forearm and both legs and feet.

Last blood test showed I was not anemic but ferritin was 4.And I carve ice all day.

I had artificial disk put in C7/T1 and herniations at C4/5/6 so it might be neck related?

Anyone have this from bypass?

What vitamins are you taking, other than the magnesium? Have you had blood work done lately?

There are several kinds of deficiencies the can cause muscle twitches.

That ferritin is ridiculously low, as in see a hematologist low. Chewing ice is also an indicator of low iron

Yep, you right on. Its the ferritin. Talking liquid iron now and lots of iron fish foods. Thank you

Please please try to get an infusion. It will be very very hard and time consuming to get those numbers up. Any reputable doc should see those numbers and ok infusions

It sounds like it probably has something to do with your back, but I recommend seeing a doctor as it could be symptoms for something serious. I have scoliosis and disc problems in my back and get twitches and spasms.

All your symptoms are indicators for low ferritin. You need to get to a hematologist ASAP for iron infusions. Many of us RNY patients simply can not absorb iron orally and need periodic iron infusions.

Don't wait on this! Your ferritin is dangerously low. You will feel much better after an infusion or two.
