Eating Fast
Hi guys...over the last week I've started eating fast again. Does anyone have any tips? Is it because I'm now below goal and trying to sabotage myself? I don't know...I start out OK but then seem to get distracted and before I know it I've finished my meal. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Nancy

Two tips that have helped me a lot:
- Put your fork down after every bite
- Aim for bites that are the size of a grain of rice

In addition the other advice, i recommend eating with no distractions. So eat ata table, not in front of TV.

I'm a habitual fast eater. Post-op, there's 2 main things I experience if I don'****ch my pace and if I fail to chew thoroughly. The first is that food starts feeling "stuck" and it's very uncomfortable. The second is that I can fail to note the signs that I'm getting full until after I've eaten that infamous "one bite too many" (though when I'm scarfing the food down it's usually 2-3 bites too many...) Then I feel absolutely miserable for about 20 minutes... sweating and nauseated with a VERY uncomfortable stomach. It's a bad habit, and a hard one to break, but it's really important to eat slowly and CHEW VERY THOROUGHLY.
