Shopping head games
Haha, yes. Sizing sucks. :)
The shirts in have in my closet that fit well range from XS to L. It's ridiculous. And jeans? I think the ones I have that fit range from size 6 to size 12. Super screwy.

Absolutely - I have a few 4's from my skinny days that I can wear and a pair of 10 pants that are snug and a pair of 12 pants that are a little loose but I can wear. For the most part I'm an 8 but the sizing bugs me to no end. I don't particularly like to shop and when I try stuff on I usually take 3 sizes with me to see what might fit.

I'm currently wearing a pair of size 00's. I was super impressed with myself until I learned that Chicco's sizing is totally weird. A 00 is actually a 2/4.
Note: I do not actually want to be a 00!

While shopping is certainly much more enjoyable at smaller sizes, and there is a TON more variety available, it is definitely a more frustrating experience. When I could only shop at the Big & Tall store, I literally only one or two different brands, so I always knew what size I needed (4XL, and 48" waist pants). Now that I can shop anywhere I have no idea if I need a M or a L, or anywhere from a 29" waist to a 32" waist. I wouldn;t trade it for anything, but it is annoying when my wife says "what size do you need" and I always have to say "I don't know, I'd have to try it on".
I think the waist thing ****** me off the most. I mean, ok, M and L can be somewhat subjective, but the waist measurement is AN ACTUAL MEASUREMENT. 30" should be 30", NOT 34". Sheesh people. I guess vanity sizing must work because it's extremely common.
My 13-year old daughter says "Dad, you have a lot better style since you've lost weight."
And spending a day at the mall shopping and grabbing dinner is a frequent activity of ours. Never, never, never would that have been something I would have done in the past. And I know she loves it.
