Ambivalent about losing more weight

I had a rude awakening seeing my skin in the hotel over the sink, bright white lighting this past week. From the boobs to my butt I'm in rough shape. But, A) I know I will have PS (it's already scheduled) and B) I just feel so much better. I also think I look pretty good in clothes and my husband doesn't seem to appreciate me any less. I actually said to him this morning "I guess I don't have to ask if you'll love me when I'm old and droopy right?"

When I got to my lowest after my lapband surgery I had the same exact experience. Unfortunately, it majorly derailed me and I started gaining. For some reason I never thought I would be able to afford PS and that even thought I had lost 110lbs I was hideous and there was no point in losing weight bc I would still look terrible. Now, 13 years later I have gained back 60lbs and I'm getting a revision. I so regret not having dealt with those feelings all those years ago. In 2003 I was 276 lb and had no health issue. Now I'm 45 and have struggled for 3 years with prediabetic issues that cause me fatigue, leg pain and seelling, and depression.

You won't get these years back, so take the bull by the horns and get the weight off. Look at some results of those who have had PS. There is a doctor on the east coast who does a large number of procedures on post WLS patients and the results are amazing!!! Dr. Joseph Michaels.

Does anyone travel to him to have surgery? I'm looking into options down the road and have heard such good things about Dr. Michaels. However, I live in Minnesota.

I live about 10 hours from him (driving) and will be having surgery with him in January. I had a Facetime consult with him first and then went down to see him in August.

Thanks, Erin. I suppose if I end up spending so much on the surgery, travel costs won't seem like that big of a deal. What procedure are you having, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm having a Lower Body Lift and Breast Lift w/o augmentation. For me, the travel cost is negligible because my BFF lives about an hour from where I'll have surgery. So I just have to pay for the gas down and I'm going to fly home to make it easier.

So exciting! I have some relatives around there, but not sure I'd want to have to explain everything to them. My goal weight is 145 and I hope to start looking into plastics then. Best of luck!

That was my goal weight as well! I was about 1lb under when I had my virtual consult and I'm now 10lbs down from that, but maintaining nicely. I'm early for plastics for have personal reasons for going forward with them earlier rather than later.
