My own pillow and my IPad with a couple of movies loaded. I slept most of the 1st day, but was bored on the second day (so thank god for the iPad).

I was in the hospital for 4 days, make sure you have comfy clothes and chapstick! When I got home heating pad was my best friend (had terrible gas pains in between my shoulder blades). And I recommend getting one of those reachers, my husband was at work and I dropped my pain meds on the floor and ended up kicking it under the couch trying to get it. And get a good pillow to place over your tummy when you walk, sit, cough, and sneeze!

maybe this is just me because no one has mentioned it yet but going so long without a bra in the hospital was murder! I wish I had had some sort of binding to hold the girls in place.

Good point - soft cotton stretch bras?

At one point it would work but for the first day or so you're hooked up to a bunch of wires

Get someone to come clean your house before your surgery or before you come home.

Amen! that was actually the first thing I arranged and she will be coming in for an hour once a day for a week just to tidy and if I need any extra help(plus I really really hate housework so this is a good excuse!)
