And it just happens so fast
Wowza! I've been feeling really tired lately, and I know it could be a combination of things, but I really am considering having my PCP do a blood draw sooner than later to check my iron levels... your post is really prompting me to do that!
I hope you get the referral quickly and get that iron back up!
So when I forget my patches, I've been known to double up on them... don't know if it helps or not though.
Take care of yourself and let us know how it goes!

Oh no! So sorry. I take iron patches and two sublingual irons every night. I like the Patches, but at the recommendation of my Dieticician I view them more as a supplement to the supplements. Or like a fail safe.
So I also take a multi and an sublingual b12 in addition to my multi and b12 patches. I also take use an Omega 3 patch and Calcium Plus patch, but no oral version of these supllements. Apparently calcium vitamins can cause heart calcification (I don't know though, just repeating info).
Calcium carbonate can cause a variety of issues, like that you mention. Calcium citrate, which we should be taking, usually does not. Having low vitamin K can lead to calcification issues as well.

Are you drinking much? The tannins in wine can inhibit iron absorption.

Considering you had PS - it is not a surprise.
Are you still menstruating? If so - have you consider endometrial ablation? That really helped a lot of woman I know.
At this levels - try to get iron infusion, then maintain it with oral iron and patches may be a good solution. When they test your blood work - make sure they also test your copper. Some people have problem absorbing copper and as their iron tanks - so does copper.
