Rapid loss 1 year out??
Hello everyone, I am 13 months out from VSG and for the last week I have been dropping 1-2 pounds a day. It's like my body is in overdrive at the moment. While I don't mind loosing weight that quick, my brain makes me think it's too much at once. Has anyone experienced this a year out? I think that's what makes me question it, is because I'm a year out and the last two months I lost maybe 5-6 pounds a month. The only thing I can think of that might be a problem is maybe too much thyroid medicine? It was last checked January 5th, but I was about 70 pounds heavier then. Should I be concerned for such a quick loss in a week thus far out?

I would definitely be concerned, especially if you haven't changed your diet or exercise habits recently.
It would be a good idea to call your doctor-- better safe than sorry!

Unless you have recently cut carbs or calories drastically, yes, this is concerning and warrants some lab testing with your PCP. Keep us updated!
I also called my PCP since she's the one that prescribes and watches the thyroid med. she agreed it was time to check again and put in the lab order. Gonna go right after work today at 3:30 since I don't need to fast
I hope to learn what you find out. It's an interesting situation.

Already got my results this morning. My thyroid level is way too high. Doc wants me to stop it for 2 days, then do a half tab the rest of the week, then decrease to a half tab 2-3 days a week starting next week and follow up for a redraw in 2 months. Glad I decided to investigate this sudden rapid loss. As awesome as it was, I don't want any bad effects from it.
