It's better than doing no activity, but it's never going to be good as a stationary bike, or a regular bike on a bike trainer. I think for crafts t's good, since the goal is to keep circulation going rather than calorie burning.

The biggest issue is depending on where you sit it can be hard on your knees or back. It depends on the chair/seating support. You also don't get a lot of the core strength on a regular bike...but again, that's not the goal, really.

The last time I tried to knit I almost blinded myself and stabbed my knee, and one of the needles wound up stuck in the celing. .....don't ask. I can't speak to it from that perspective, as a result. >.>

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

I have a Wonder Core that i got on Amazon. It doesnt walk across the carpet, so thats good. I can work up a sweat on it, so thats also good. You are pushing straight up and down rather than cycling in circles, so i think that is easier on your knees. Im happy with it. It has improved my aerobic and muscular fitness.

When my husband was not very mobil he used one and liked it. Kept the circulation going and was good for him. If you are not very active it would be a good idea, but if you able to get up and move save your money! It's really not a piece of exercise equipment, more of a PT item that helps with circulation. Good luck
