I just saw this video by Kurzgesagt which explains why having a healthy gut microbiome is so important. This reminds me of many conversations with Hala about my own issues, actually. Definitely click on the link and check it out if you are curious by how it works.

Also, who knew microbes were so adorable?!

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

I admit it was pretty interesting, but it was the adorable microbe thumbnail that got me to click >.>

Some studies suggest there are over 100 trillion bacteria in our gut (relatively healthy person) and that our body is made of app 10 trillion cells.

If you compare that- that would mean we are 90% bacteria, 10% us. We are actually farmers tending to our bacteria.

Healthy gut = better health.

That explains why my brain works the way it does... heh.

Kidding aside, it's interesting. It gives new meaning to containing multitudes. The more we learn the less we understand we know.

Interesting video. I found it interesting that feeding your gut on certain types of foods creates a cycle of craving that type of food. Reminds me why carbs are such a slippery slope for me.

Cute video, and who knew poop transplants were a thing, lol? OMG.

We must all have lots of protein loving microbes in our guts now.

I know, right?

I have to say Kathy, that there are some things I am not willing to do for science, and poop transplants are one of them for now! Of course, they have done a ton of good for others in terms of approving health, so one day I may eat those words, heh.
