Suddenly always cold

I was always the one sweating when everyone else was cold or comfortable. I now don't go anywhere without a jacket/sweater, and my favorite item on the couch is my heated throw.

While I'd like to tell you it gets better, instead I will advise to keep blankets on the sofa to curl under for the rest of your life.

Yup, it happened to me right after surgery. I went from being hot all the time to feeling cold. Now I'm 8 months out and in addition to the overall feelings of cold, my hands and feet are like ice cubes. I just crocheted myself some fingerless gloves so I can wear them indoors and still type, lol.

I started being freezing about three weeks after coming home from surgery, and I'm STILL always cold at almost 4 years post-op. I live in Arizona, so the fact that I wear cardigans to the office in the summer and turn on my space heater in the 70-degree winter makes my coworkers chuckle.

Yeah, it's kind of a pain, but I'd rather be cold than deal with all the health problems I had at ~300lb :)

I was freezing in surgery! It is a byproduct of low carbs. I have a heated throw, heated blaket, often take 20-30 showers just to warm up after working outside and wear wool socks in 70 degree weather.

I'm a few years out and still freeze all the time. I have blankets and always dress in layers. I used to sweat in winter, so this is a trade off I'll gladly take! :)

Totally normal and very common. Use it to treat yourself to some beautiful pashminas ;)

Its quite common. I experienced this at a few months out. But it gradually subsided and after 7 years I am back to normal and glad to live in a cool climate. Diane S
