Suddenly always cold
I'm about 6 weeks post op, and I've lost 36 lb so far (with about 100 more to go). I've always been hotter than most other people (I don't wear a coat in the car in the winter, I'm usually fine in short sleeves when others are grabbing a sweater, etc). I expected that to change as I got close to goal, but I didn't expect it this soon. Has anyone else had this experience?

It's surprisingly common, so you're not alone! I'm pretty much freezing all the time unless it's 80F+

I think it started pretty much right away for me. Carbs tend to keep us warm, so the low carb diet can make us cold.

Yep, when I had my surgery in September 2015 by winter I was freezing all the time and haven't warmed up since. It's so funny still to me two years later that I freeze all the time when I was the one who before would be sweating through the winter. Now I keep my thermostat on 74 in the summer where as I would have it in 62-63 in the summer before!

Lost 161 lbs since surgery, LOST 221 lbs overall so far!!

I was suddenly freezing all the time for the first few months after surgery and then just as suddenly I went back to being my normal warm self.
Like Mahonia, I was constantly freezing in the beginning, then went back to my normal later (about the time I wa****ting goal). I would guess it comes from the metabolism changes that WLS causes.

Get used to it and buy a snuggie! It's been my most annoying "side effect". Always cold. It can be 80+ degrees and I'm cold. SO MUCH COLD!
