I've been putting it on my balding head every night for a week and tiny hairs are actually growing.

I found it in my local pharmacy in the section where the hair products for black folks are.

It's thigh so I thinned it with lavender oil and also some cayenne oil because it warms the scalp which encourages circulation.

They sell a variety of pre mixed formulas on Amazon.

There is no scientific evidence that says castor oil will help your hair grow.

It is also a myth that increasing circulation encourages hair growth.

The most likely explanation is coincidence: your hair was starting to grow back anyway, and it just happened to be at the same time that you started using the oil.

Sorry, but castor oil is just a waste of money.

As a predominately bald black woman, of Jamaican heritage- this post bugs me. Probably because its likely some coy marketers that are throwing Jamaican in there hoping it will sell more product. Or maybe because hair loss posts in general bug me-- cry me a river. Or maybe it would have been better termed as 'ethnic hair care' vs. "hair products for black folks."

FWIW, Castor Oil would have a horrible effect on my already super sensitive scalp. Glad your seeing regrowth- I never will no matter how they package the product.

I've seen that stuff in the drug store, they DEFINITELY play up the exoticism angle to sell the stuff. Same thing with "African black soap," which is basically just shea butter.

They have them in SC- albeit a smaller variety than what I would find in the city- but it's there.

Silly Hala! It's right next to the fat lady products in aisle six.

No, not fat lady products. I think most stores call that section 'Lardasses', y'know, so we don't accidentally wander into the 'Normal Folk' section.

At my local Walgreen's, you can find the Hambeast products in aisle 2, next to the deodorant.
