Major Change in Sleep Habits

OMG, my BFF. always complaining about tiredness. To be fair, she deals with Hashimoto's and that's part of the reason. But the only time I feel drained is when see's putting it on me by talking about it so much.

Just finished my first Kettlebell class and I'm reminded that I do feel pretty whooped right after a work out, lol. Give me 20 minutes and I'll be good to go though!

I am jealous! Since my surgery on Aug 24th I want to sleep all day long. Then when bed time comes nope I toss and turn until 12 or 1. Then when alarm goes off I just hit snooze and keep "napping" until I am late for work or just don't want to go. I also could sleep the day away on weekends. I used to fall asleep fast before surgery and get up somewhat easier. I also would not sleep the weekends away. Needless to say I feel guilty about this. not how I was raised at all. I will trade you to get up bright eyed and ready to go!

You are early yet! It wasn't like that when I was still physically recovering. In fact, it was like a switch flipped when I hit some weight or something.

This post is actually helping me stay sane. You are describing my sleep patterns EXACTLY. I get tired at night (around 10pm usually), but can stay up until 11 or 12 if I don't lay down. If I lay down I am asleep in about 30 seconds. Then I start waking up every 1-2 hours. I can get back to sleep, but I feel very alert. You described it best as being like a kid that's super excited for the next day (or more precisely for this night to end). By about 5am I am just so happy for the night to be over and to be able to get up.

I have started to dread night time due to this. And I used to LOVE to sleep.

I also am not really tired at all during the day, so it's not really interfering with my life I suppose.

I have googled and read about virtually every type of insomnia, but nothing seems to describe this particular affliction. And I had never seen a post before that describes it.

Perhaps misery loves company, but I am glad I'm not the only one experiencing it. It's highly annoying.

I should also add that this didn't start for me until I was over a year post op. I don't remember when exactly, but probably 14-15 months post-op. Which was about 2-3 months after transitioning to maintenance.

If you stumble upon a miracle cure, please keep me posted!!!

Yes! I dread going to bed and I anticipate it being over and getting to wake up. I mean, I guess it's great that I love life! And that I'm not tired. I imagine this is what people on stimulants (stronger than caffeine) feel!
