Breakfast Anyone??

Need advice on whether it makes any difference if I start skipping breakfast. Does it really matter if I don't eat until noon? I'm up early but usually busy working. I work from home but I could be happy with just a.m. coffee. Ready... Go!

I might struggle to reach my protein goal without a breakfast meal in the mix.

I have found that days when I get a late start I get a bit light headed. That would be something to watch out for. I do drink a huge bottle of water before my first meal though. Helps me stay on track for my water goals :)

I always hated breakfast. I forced myself to eat breakfast after WLS. I hated it. I used protein shakes, got nauseated or in pain. But I was told I needed that. But I always was a late night eater. Plus - as years went by, I needed late night snack to prevent low BS in a middle of the night. So finally I gave up on the breakfast. I start eating at noon. That works great for me.

A couple of years ago I also started having gut pain if I ate too early. So even now - when I may get little hungry before noon - I still don't eat, until I am sure my insides can handle that.

But - I make sure my meals are protein forward, and now I know I still have enough calorie left for a LNS when I want it, or need it.

Read on IF - intermittent fasting. That works for me better than anything I ever did. Not only for my weight, but for my IBS, digestion, etc.

I often eat between 12-9 pm. Making sure I get enough proteins and fats.

I have to have something to eat when I get up, but I don't think it makes one bit of difference to your body if you eat those calories at noon instead of 7:00 AM.

The overall amount that you take in ultimately determines how much you will weigh.

I have adjusted my meal times to ensure I eat a late dinner and don't snack at night. For me, that looks like breakfast at 10:30 or 11, lunch around 3, dinner around 8:30 or 9. I often have solid food for breakfast and more often than not, it's not "breakfast" food - it may be leftover ground turkey in taco seasoning, or egg salad. For the first 1-1.5 years after my RNY, I had a Chike iced coffee protein shake for breakfast every day. That way I had some protein but wasn't putting food into my sleepy pouch!

I can't handle solid food before 11 AM, even though I'm up by 6 AM. I drink coffee, water, or tea ( though it's usually coffee, who am I kidding? ****il 11 AM or noon. I eat a later dinner.

If I feel like I need to have something proteiny in my system before my usual 1st mealtime, I make a yogurt/protein powder/( unsweetened) cashew milk smoothie.

I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

It only makes a difference if it makes a difference. If you can go until noon with no ill effects, and still get your protein in for the day, go for it.

That whole "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" bullcrap is just marketing hype.
