That's part of the healing process! I had little tweaks when I moved wrong all over the place. The big incision, next to my belly button, was sore for about two weeks; that's where my surgeon did the most complicated suture.

If you're having any spots that are particularly sore, a heating pad can help a lot.

Hey Kingfisher

Yes this is normal as your body heals. The bigger of your incisions is the one they removed your stomach out through. I found that one was the most painful. I found supporting that wound as I stood up and straightened helped a bit

It gets better after a few weeks. You need to still be careful but you will notice a big difference to your first couple of weeks. Keep your surgeons lifting restrictions in mind too.

I was under the impression they didn't remove the stomach but the part not used is still there to create all the breakdown juices..bile and so on..which moved on down the intestines to breakdown the food

In RNY that is true. But in VSG they suck the disconnected stomach out of one of your incisions.

So you're saying they don't reach up in there with a hook like the ancient Egyptians did when taking the brain out during mummification?

What Grim said

Its removed - and you will find the most tender of your incisions is the one it came out of

I found mine healed really fast
