Fires to the West, Hurricanes to the East, is this the end of the World?

Talk about stress eating!

We are surrounded with fires out here in the West with triple digit temps and no rain in sight. TX is under water and now one of the worst hurricanes in history is headed to FL.

Reaching out to all our members affected by all this devastation and wanted you to know we are all here for you. Sending hugs, prayers, or whatever you believe in - SEND IT

IF you find you are overwhelmed with all that is going on and you want to turn to food, turn the TV off and go for a walk. Do something with your loved ones. Give your mind and heart a break.

If you need to vent that is what OH is here for

Take care,

Kathy

Hi Gina,

I see the photos of all the fires out here and shake my head. There are days when we smell smoke. Then I see those poor people in Houston and the surrounding area and my heart hurts. Now FL? We have 2 wonderful members that live in FL Charlie on the beach and Sarahlicious, one is in Miami and the other in Daytona beach.

That being said I just have to step away for a bit. Us old timers LOL know when to take a stress break but for those that are new they are still learning that step and just wanted to help. Now if I hear a news story of locus and dead fish floating I may reach for that chocolate bar

Hugs,

Kathy

I have a brother, and loads of other family and OH family, in the Houston area. Everyone survived, PHYSICALLY, and, Lord willing, the rest will work out!!

Lots and lots of rebuilding to do. Yes, it is "stuff", but it is THEIR stuff, and my heart hurts, for them

I live in Southern Oregon about 30 miles from the largest fire at 176,000 acres. The air quality has been constantly in the upper 300's. The hazardous level starts at 300. I work in healthcare and respiratory problems are rampant at the moment. Just about the only way to get a mask is to order online.

Today we are having thunderstorms rolling through with the possibility of lightning. Yea...

I can't help but think about how bad everyone else has it at the moment as well. It appears that mother nature is telling us to kiss her butt!

I also live in OR; I'm between Albany and Bend. Stepped outside for the trash barrel this morning and the air smelled so sweet without all the smoke in it--aaah!

Best wishes to all the people living with hurricanes and flooding and having to rebuild.

So glad things are getting better. I think I heard it was 35% contained? It is too bad we can't control the weather. We could direct Irma to the West and within hours all the fires would be out :-)
