Ok so my surgery was Sept 1st..

At the hospital weighed 328 lbs. then the day after 331..nurse said sometimes that happens by a few times..

so I just went out and bought a scale..first one ever...wieghed myself..and it's telling me 315...

this CANNOT be true...can it..i do not feel smaller at all...

You lose ridiculously fast at first. Especially if your BMI is on the higher side. So yes, it's likely true.

reset the scale three times..took three readings...

guess I'm just not use to this.

It's probably due to the home scale being slightly differently calibrated than the professional scale. No worries, track by your home scale and realize that a medical office scale will probably always have you a few pounds higher.

Simplest answer is, different scales, different readings.

I'm not sure of your height and BMI, but you can see my stats in my signature for comparison.

6'3" tall, male.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

My old scale was 10 pounds off from my doctor's office. It was a piece of junk lol. The only way to know for sure is to weigh at home right before you go to the doctor, and then figure out how off it is.

I think it's entirely possible. I started at nearly 350 --- after 2 week pre-op liquid diet when in for surgery at around 319 -- and was under 300 less than 2 weeks after surgery.

I didn't feel any smaller until I was under 280 -- and no one who didn't know noticed my weight loss until I was over 70 lbs lighter...

It took a good 70-80 pound loss before people started saying anything.
