High Carb vs. High Fat and CVD: from the Lancet.
Regretfully, I am not allowed to accept people for clients I meet through support groups, since it's a conflict of interest for me, as we "met" outside of a professional relationship first. My clients should never question where my primary interests lie, and meeting people on the forums first automatically gives me a bias that meeting people professionally does not. I also have a more personal relationship (post-wise) here than I would as a counselor. I also consider it personally inappropriate, as I'm here for support from my peers, and it puts someone in an awkward situation if they go from peer to client. I take counselor ethics seriously, to be honest, because therapists who do not can cause a lot of damage. In fact, everyone should be leery of any therapist who blurs relationship lines like that, but this is a tangent...
At any rate, insurance is tricky, across state lines, sometimes. A lot of healthcare has not yet caught up to the internet.
However, I'm always happy to help people seek out and find good clinicians where they are at, or provide referrals if I am able to. I have a good network of associates outside of Illinois. Anyone reading this is free to message me if you need a counselor and have issues finding someone local that works well for you. Send me a note if you'd like help finding someone!
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!
It is not that we have so little time but that we lose so much...the life we receive is not short but we make it so; we are not ill provided but use what we have wastefully. -- Seneca, On the Shortness of Life
I'd call your insurance company and get a list of providers, too, though, as they definitely take your insurance.
