Good Afternoon! By chance, have you seen the daily menu thread? You might find some information there that is helpful as well as ideas and support.

Your stomach will keep growling for awhile. That's a good thing. You will feel more restriction an 'full' when you can eat solid protein. That will help a lot. Also if you're not on a ppi, you should try that. 8 months out I do get hungry. But now a little bit of food can satisfy me. Pre surg I was a clean your plate girl.

For me I had to learn the difference between feeling " hungry" and feeling " empty'. That was a tough one for me.

So eventually you found a difference? What was the difference? Just the stomach rumbling?

Stomach rumbling is nothing more than excess acid...that's not hunger pangs. If you're not taking a PPI, you should, it will help with the growling and rumbling. I was prescribed Prilosec OTC every day for the first 6 months. I still take one now and then when my stomach starts sounding like Mount Vesuvius! You will learn how the "empty" stomach feels in time. It's very different from what we used to think was hunger.

I absolutely felt hungry the first 2-3 weeks post op. It was not head hunger. It was legit stomach growling hunger. I was so angry and frustrated feeling like it didn't work Once I was able to advance my diet into purees, it went away and hasn't come back.

I was hungry too. With being on a liquid diet 2 days prior to surgery and then 2 weeks after surgery I was very hungry. Didn't start feeling satisfied until I got into puree stage! I would say the hardest part of this journey would be the first few weeks after surgery. But, all this shall pass and it gets better and better! You can do it!!!
