Large clothes

Did anyone here ever list their plus size clothing on consignment sites like curvyco.com, resellxl.com? Or stick with EBay, Tradesy, Thedup? Others sites?

I have lots of very nice things from decent designers and new with tags, and would like to sell them. I donated many items already, and these are the pricey ones. I can always donate if I want to but I thought I might finance some of my new clothes with revenue from selling these items.

The local shops that accept consignments really focus on small sizes. There are two plus size stores I found online but they don't appear to be very active...

Where I live there is a plus size consignment shop and I put many of my things up for sale there to pay for my new smaller things. For the most part it worked out fine just whatever you do be sure to fully read the contract and terms of consigning. For example the store where my stuff was will donate your items if they don't sell or get picked back up by me within a certain time frame and also the store claims that they are not liable for any damages to items. I had a $70 dress new with the tags on it that someone ripped out the zipper on. I am currently dealing with the shop owner on that one to try to hold them responsible since it was a brand new dress with tags.

Craigslist and letgo are a couple of the apps that can be used to sell clothing. Add a lot of pictures. Describe the sizes. And don't forget to include in the text that you're selling them because you lost 100 lb not because they're damaged or you don't want them anymore.

If you're on Facebook, try searching for plus-size swap groups! There's one in my hometown. People post pictures/sizes, etc and usually its first-to-comment or first with cash. then you arrange where to meet to exchange the goods/money.

I've had a couple bad experiences (mostly people not showing up at the designated meeting place) but mostly good ones.

I sold my wardrobe as I went down from 28 to a 4/6.

The most money was made on the largest sizes -- despite the fact that my clothes became of higher quality and brands as they became smaller.

I was even able to sell bathing suits and bras (which shocked me.)

I made enough to take my family on a trip across country... I used eBay, sold them in small lots and individually for pricier things.

It took a lot of time, but it was worth it.
