Mobility question after surgery

I am 3 days out and still in a fair amount of pain but I do have some times throughout the day that I feel ok. I have been walking outside around the house, doing all my self care and minor things around the house like folding laundry, making lunch for my 5 year old, easy stuff like that.

Everyone is different. I was in a lot of pain. A LOT. I could dress and care for myself but was lucky my ex sister in law was with me as she helped me a lot in those first few days after surgery, making sure I wouldn't have to lift or carry anything. It hurt to move, but I forced myself to do my walks. Going from a sitting to standing position hurt a lot, and holding a pillow against my tummy helped a lot in the early days. I also had trouble with high blood pressure and dizziness when standing after surgery. I almost passed out the first time I took a shower.

I took things very slow, but I was able to take care of myself. I did appreciate some assistance in the morning for a few days getting out of bed once I was home.

I think the scary part for me was feeling great and forgetting that I just had surgery! The day of surgery I was a little sore, but after two days I was doing really good. You may be a little sore, but you do have to remember that your new stomach is sutured up if you had the Sleeve. Can't lift anything heavy. Otherwise, you feel pretty good.

It also depends on your baseline heath. I was not jumping around at all. It is major surgery no matter how you do. Sip and keep up with fluids. That will really help.
