Starting full liquid 2mrw!! HELP!!
Good luck, and remember...the purpose of the pre-op diet is to shrink your liver so it is more manageable for the doctor during surgery. It is not to lose weight. That's a nice plus if it happens, but the important thing is to stick with your guidelines and get the size of that liver down.
Everyone will have different loss both before and after surgery, there are too many factors involved to base your progress on someone else's. Starting weight, metabolism, specific diet guidelines, what and how much you were eating before surgery, etc. Just stick to your plan and forge ahead, that's all any of us can do!
Good luck! I'm 5 days post op and feeling good. Applesauce I'm sure would be considered a purée, but for after surgery, do try some low fat cream soups. As stated by others, the first few days, it's a full time job just trying to get in 50-60 ounces of just clear liquid. After a few days though, I have found the hunger returning and thicker soups really help.
No applesauce. It's still full of sugar. You want to be near zero carbs to shrink your liver, and applesauce is not the way to do it.
Work hard, and weight loss will come. Don't fret the number -- work the plan.

Full liquid is stuff that was (more or less) naturally a liquid. Sugar free, low carb, high protein, and low calorie. If you miss chew/eating, get sugar-free popsicles that are low carb (the Popsicle brand is the lowest in sugar that tastes the most decent I found). Some programs also include sugar free jello. Your bariatric program likely has a plan you can peruse.
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!
It is not that we have so little time but that we lose so much...the life we receive is not short but we make it so; we are not ill provided but use what we have wastefully. -- Seneca, On the Shortness of Life
I had to do two weeks. I lost about 10lbs but surgery and hospital stay gained 6 of them back. It was mostly water weight with all the fluids being pumped in and nothing coming out that first post op day(anestesia tends to do that to your bladder)...now post op by 5 days the six pounds is gone again....it's hard to get 64 oz. water to pass through my new pouch each day but I'm trying....and fluid is fluid. Popsicles, juices, water soup stock, ect.
You shouldn't be wasting your stomach space on juice at this point as it's pure sugar. Stick to protein drinks or calorie-free liquids.
