LIZ - looks awesome, to me! You really ARE a tiny little thing!

If that's your granite countertop, we have the same taste...now, if we could just have the same body type :)

LOL! Yes, very natural looking counters (and don't show dirt).

I'd sort of like to have the RMR done, but then again, I have no problem staying in my acceptable range if I average 1700 calories, so the RMR would probably just confirm that. Sorry about the 1200-calorie thing! I was really glad when I discovered I could eat 1700. I was afraid I'd be one of those people who'd have to stay sub-1000 to maintain. Ugh!

Just a quick question, does insurance pay for these kinds of tests? I want to get this done at some point but not eager to pay! If insurance doesn't, is it very expensive?

Insurance pays for a basic DEXA bone density scan, but it only gives your bone density. The version Liz shows is for complete body composition, and is not covered by insurance. They are pretty hard to find in most areas, and the most common prices I've seen are in the 150 dollar range.

As Grim said, insurance does not pay for this kind of scan. It was $175 in Boston. I believe others have said they were able to pay with HSA funds.

You can now use your HSA. I have had several done, the most I paid was for this last one which was $125, the least was $69. Depends on the state you live in wether they are allowed to have these independent places being it does use a medical device. Found out the reason I couldn't find one in NY is they require you to have s Doctors script.

Some people have found universities that have exercise physiology programs and have gotten them very reasonably there.
