RMR and Dexa Scan

I had RMR (Resting Metabolism Rate) and Dexa Scan tests yesterday.

The RMR confirmed what I thought, but it was good to know for sure. My RMR is lower than normal for my age, height and weight. My maintenance calories should be 1000-1300, which is exactly what I thought (I've been maintaining on an average of around 1200-1300).

The Dexa Scan says that I have 24% body fat (at the bottom of normal), so I am pretty much where I should be (wouldn't want to drop much lower). My visceral fat is great at .3 (goal is under 1 pound). Big difference from 2 years ago I'm sure (pre-WLS).

I think the bone density says I am normal for my age - I'll obviously ask my PCP more questions about the detail. Images of the Dexa are below (in case any of you have other insights):

We are built very similarly, lol. My DEXA showed me at 24% body fat as well. I believe when you're working out they consider that "athletic", so I'll take it!

Way to go, Liz!!

Now I have to go back and look at mine because I'm not sure I paid any attention to the visceral fat percentage.

You're rocking it!!!

My visceral fat was very similar .38 I believe. They said under 2lbs is excellent.

Actually your bone density is very good.

Like you said it is great to get confirmation... My RMR when tested has always been higher than normal, which is surprising for my age. Honestly I am afraid to eat up to what they say my maintenance calories are.

Thanks - I was having a difficult time understanding the density imformation. I was actually hoping I was wrong about the number of calories I would maintain on (hoping I could eat more). LOL, of course I wasn't!

The blue area is the normal range. So you are at the top end of normal.
