Sweat smells like urine
Yesterday while working out I kept sniffing around me wondering what smelled like pee. It wasn't till I got home that I realized; it was me that smelled that way. I know for certain that my clothes were fresh when I dressed for the gym, but they smelled like urine after. Not horribly strong, but enough for me to notice. My son confirmed it for me, said he'd noticed the same thing but was being nice by not mentioning it :-)
So I went to Dr. Google and saw the science of why/how this occurs, but I'm not sure what I need to do diet/exercise wise to avoid this. Any have this experience, or can offer suggestions?

Basically it said my body is breaking down protein, and the chemical process of stripping down the amino acids to that makes up protein, can be excreted though sweat and smell like urine.
(That was me GREATLY simplifying the process that made sense when I read it)

Peachpie-is the condition called Ketosis!?!? [or any better spelling version thereof?]
Ammonia is a byproduct of having extra amino acids after protein has been broken down into substrates, actually. That's what causes the smell.
Ketosis is not really a condition; more of a metabolic state. Most of us are in ketosis for extended periods of time, actually, pre and post-op. It's the use of fat for energy versus glucose.
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Hmm. I did a quick skim of Google for this. I read about the protein metabolization. I wonder if it's a one-time occurrence. If not, it might be worthwhile to also have your kidney function checked, just in case.
Not to be gross, but if I sweat I usually need more than 80 ounces of water.

Its the first I've noticed it, So I'm comfortable looking at increasing water/carbs a bit for exercise/run days.
I just need to make sure that doesn't translate to eat all carbs, all the time. And I need to make an effort to have a carb before my run. Usually I'm allowing more wiggle room later in the day, but I imagine my body would benefit best if I had it pre-workout.
