Losing the Fat = Losing the Fear
I am constantly amazed at the positive effect losing the weight has on our lives, even after 13 years. Losing the fat really does = losing the fear. WooHoo leaving tomorrow for Nashville TN to visit a couple of wonderful friends and see the Eclipse on Monday the 21st.
If I was planning this trip back when I was 330 pounds it would be so different. Honestly I would not be going. The anxiety of not being able to walk very far and having to walk the airport sweating like a pig would have me in a panic. The looks of disgust of people as I turned sideways to try and fit down the isle knowing they were thinking "don't let her sit next to me". Once I do sit down most of the time I was so embarrassed I didn't ask for the belt extender. YES, I KNOW. How stupid is that to fly and not have the seat belt buckled but I did. By the grace of God I didn't get hurt. I remember sitting with my arms crossed the entire flight thinking that would keep my fat from spilling over on others. By the time we got to where were were going my arms would be numb. I never accepted any snacks as the tray could not come down due to my stomach. Sigh you get the picture......
Today at 128 I am so excited to be looking forward to all the sites, experience and have the attitude, BRING IT ON If you are just starting out on your weight loss journey, get ready to live life as its meant to be lived!

Nashville, how fun! I hope you have a wonderful trip Kathy! I also flew without the seatbelt extender. I would pull my shirt over the seatbelt buckle so the flight attendants wouldn't see, always kept my arms folded and NEVER put the tray down. At least you walked the airport, I asked for a wheelchair...oh my, never again!
Enjoy! 128 - yeah: Time to update your signature again!

COOL!! I'm so glad you got to see it.
I was in training in California for the week, so I didn't, but my travel was also awesome. I went all over the place, beaches, shopping centers, etc. in the evenings because I had energy and wasn't worried about how much space I was taking up in whatever place. You're 100% right about fear following the fat.

I was in Irvine. I took a couple of evenings to go to the beach, since I haven't been in surf since I was like 8. I drove out to Treasure Island at Laguna Beach, and then to Balboa Pier in Newport Beach (I think?). I had a great time. :)

Well, that's the last of the training I need to take from that company, but I'm pretty sure I failed the exam, so I'll have to go back (or possibly to Atlanta) for at least an overnight in order to re-take the test. If it ends up being Irvine I'll try and remember to drop you a line and we can meet for lunch or something!!
