Why do I let people get me down...

We all are different with weight loss. Some people lose a lot and others not as fast.
Emotions can really suck after WLS. I think just owning who you are and just do the best that you can.
And people will say things to me like how much better I look now. I get pissed sometimes. I think what didn't you like me before
I am four years out and I am learning to love myself. I mean I never wore shirts that would show my arms.
My arms do not look great. But I started thinking if it was someone who just had scars on their arms would people would still look at them. So I figured Eff them.
I think sometimes we read way too much into it also. The looks we get.
One thing I am learning is that WLS doesn't define who I am. I am a person with many titles. Mother, wife, daughter. Also an alcoholic. But I am just Susan.
Being proud for making the right decisions on the changes in your life. We have to be our own cheerleaders sometimes.
Look at your eating also. Food addiction really sucks sometimes.
Remember you did this for you. Make a list of things you can do now when you start feeling bad.
Everyone loses at different rates, we know that. Also, your diet and guidelines may be completely different than those of her sisters, which can make a difference in loss rate. So many factors are involved. The fact that HER sisters are genetically similar, but you are completely different since you're not blood relations, is also going to be a huge factor in progress. You're doing amazingly well, don't let her fluster you. Keep on keeping on, and you'll be fine!

It is very normal for people's weight loss to slow down and/or to stall at about a year out. You can eat more and you weigh less, so even if you were still eating the same number of calories as you were at one month out, your daily caloric deficit is smaller so your weight loss is smaller.
As long as you are doing what you know you need to be doing (making good food choices, avoiding snacks, and keeping portion sizes under control), you are doing what you can control. Don't let what you cannot control get you down.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
