Sushi-Not the health food I thought
I make what I call Hulk sauce out of the Wasabi and soy. I call it that because it is strong and it is green. My wife can't believe that I eat it so strong.
I am in the "soft foods" stage, so fish is on the Ok list. My husband and I tried sashimi the other night.
Before surgery our usual was 4 fish types of sashimi, 1 maki rolls, and then an order each of eel Nagri sushi as our desserts. For the sashimi we usually get Hamachi (Yellow Tail), Ahi (Tuna), Sake (Salmon), and either sea bass or scallops. We always ask the chef to cut the usual portion of 3 pieces in to 4 slices so we each get 2 slices. We haven't had a chef not able to do that for us. It means we each get 2 slices, even if they are a little smaller.
The other night we had the Hamachi, Ahi, Sake, and the Scollops, then my husband had 1 maki roll and the eel nagiri. I ate the eel but did not eat the sushi rice. I was quite satisfied and all of the lovely fish sat perfectly in my tiny tummy. I chewed each bite really well and had no trouble at all.
I am so glad because I have loved sashimi since I was a teenager and not being able to eat it would be very upsetting. I am really glad because it means that I can have this healthy treat going forward!
It is better to travel and get lost...
Than never to travel at all.
i have been eating poke (raw ahi tuna ) for my breakfast meal monday - friday for the past 2 years on and off. so much good protein and only fish nothing else. also there is a roll that bristol farms makes that is a cabbage roll with spicy tuna that is not a calorie bomb. i do not eat a lot of cabbage for some reason pouch does not like it. but honestly sashimi is just the best.
