Hot food makes me barf?

I've been barfing more since the surgery. I told the NP at the clinic and she changed my meds. I have an appointment in two weeks and will be more assertive.

The volume of food does not seem to be the problem. I weigh/ measure my food. Even in restaurants. I get a to go box when my meal arrives as well. I will pay closer attention to how quickly I eat.

Can you get an earlier appointment? 2 weeks is a long time to wait, if the "barfing" is habitual. As you know, your esophagus is taking a beating

I would think that someone with a PhD in nursing from Stanford would perhaps try a few different things to prevent (or at least) limit vomiting?

Um...I've been throwing up for months, and already tried many things, none of them help much so I stopped eating hot food. Why are you such a nasty *****

In case a nervous pre-op is reading this thread, I'm just piping in to say that this is not normal. I vomited daily (sometimes hourly) with the lapband, but have had absolutely no problems with the RNY. If this is happening, it indicates a problem, and shouldn't be seen as something you should "expect" to happen.

I didn't expect this to happen. I have discussed this with the NP in the bariatric surgeons office at every visit. I know it's not normal. I am concerned about esophageal erosion so I do avoid warn or hot food.

I do find it difficult to believe that I am the only person on this entire site that this has ever happened too.
