Howdy from deep in the heart of Texas. Just starting my WLS scenic tour.

Ha! I saw a program on our Texas Parks and Wildlife program. They referred to you as the Texas snowbirds. Maybe because ironically, they said many were big birders down on the south coast. :) My bad! Valley people are super duper--so welcoming and hospitable. Most of Texas is like that, but the more west and panhandle you get, you have to be patient and win their affection. But once won, it's a friendship for life. Love that part of the world and miss it! Sooooo miss fishing down around Port O'Connor.
Welcome!

So it's taken me a week to reply to this because I was just a little freaked out, but it's still bugging me. Who are you? You said you've been a lurker...would you mind sharing what your old screen name used to be? I did not post anything at all about our cookout on OH by the time you responded to this and I was wondering if I know you?

Welcome! I hope you stick around and share your story as you move through the process. Hearing everyone's challenges helps us all. I have relatives all over TX (Missouri City, Plano, Austin) but I've live in Phoenix. This is generally a friendly place but a little more 'tough love' than those FB pages where it's more like true confessions about what people ate/did that they know was against advice.
