NSV - Flying is MUCH easier 105# down
I had my first business trip today since the surgery. Flying is SO much nicer now. Even in a regular seat, I had room to be comfortable. That's a new thing for me, and it was SO much better.
AND, my hubby got us out of the house late, and dropped me at the wrong gate for TSA, so I had to walk VERY quickly from gate 12 to gate 20 and back to gate 12. That would have killed me a year ago, and today I didn't even break a sweat. (Cursing hubby a bit, though...)
VSG life rocks.

Woo! The first time I flew after surgery I had to take a picture of how much extra length the seatbelt had. It was amazing. :D

That's awesome, Chick! :-) I have a similar tale:
This morning we had a full site meeting for our firm in the basement of a nearby tower. There were about 300 attendees and some of those ended up standing for the hour-long meeting.
I snagged a seat in the middle, and for the first time in my life, was absolutely not self-conscious about people sitting next to me! In fact, the seats felt positively roomy!
"Friends are like flowers; no matter how well you pick them, they all eventually die."
My vsg is Thursday, and this is one of the goals I have for the next year: to sit comfortably in an airline seat without an extender on the seatbelt. I also want to fit into the very small seats at our local arena. I have left many a concert and even my daughter's high school graduation with bruises on my thighs. I would get really pissed when people would come into the row late and step on my feet and bump my bad knee. I'm also sick of worrying I'll break furniture at people's homes or at work. I don't know how long it will take at over 300 pounds, but I hope by next summer these things are just distant bad memories! The last weigh in is tomorrow morning. Even with the magnesium citrate bowel prep and clear liquids, I haven't lost anything!I am right on my magic number for the surgery to be a "go".
Oh, AND, one of my co-workers who hadn't seen me in about a year, didn't recognize me. That is always a boost to the ego. :)
I also had to go clothes shopping before this trip because my business attire was looking too sloppy for meeting the executives. :D
