I'm at THAT point.
Everybody is telling me that I am too skinny... Well not everybody but those that actually matter to me are. My dad is crazy concerned and he wants me to go to a doctor to make sure that I'm okay. My sister who had gastric bypass in 2000 says that I'm too skinny. I mentioned this to my boss who had VSG a year before I did and she immediately said will you are. I should also mention that I weighed more than she did and now I weigh 20 pounds less than her. My sweetie is still extremely supportive and has not said that I am too skinny.
I'm currently 166 lb and 5' 7". The top of the normal BMI range for me is 159. I'm thinking that I want to stay right around the 150 range. I'm going to continue towards those goals before attempting maintenance. I still have a belly that needs to go bye bye in my opinion. Once I get down to that 159 I do intend to get a dexa scan to determine my fat versus muscle.
I know that they are just worried but it's kind of like geez, can't you just support me?

I hear ya girl, I'm getting the same concerns from my mom. She's been saying that I've lost enough after 1 month post op. I told her that I didn't go through surgery to still be in the 200's. I'm 5'6.5 and I set my first goal at 165lbs, I will see how I feel when I get there. I'm currently 206lbs and can't wait to hit onderland lol.
keep up the great work!
I bet they feel they are supporting you and that "you're too skinny" will perhaps be interpreted as "Woowooo, you can stop working so hard now because you've clearly achieved your goal!" And they're just saying/expressing that in the WRONG WAY.
Ugh. People :P What do they even know anyway?

I think this comes with the territory, especially since we tend to look a little thin before our fat balances itself out. I have gotten a LOT of that and my father has also been concerned. He's also the one who asked why I didn't slow the weight loss down as it was better if it came off slowly. Sorry, Dad but at 6 weeks post op (when he said that) there isn't any slowing it down!
When people ask now, I just tell them I'm at goal and move on. I'm actually 1.5lbs from goal and figuring I'll probably lose another 10-15lbs below goal before all is said and done but whatever. I don't need their crap!

I just started saying "Oh I'm all done now"... when in reality I started saying that about 10 pounds ago, and I still am considering another 5-7 pounds... If they start to say I look thinner, I'll just shrug my shoulders and act dumb.
