"People Suck"

Yup... yup, yup, yup...

Ignore those fools. They have no idea what they're saying or what they're stupid comments mean.

I guess there's a good reason they're acquaintances and not friends; definitely not friend material there.

It's so stupid. Who cares how you lost weight? You dropped a fuckton and are now less of a burden on the healthcare system. They should be ecstatic.

I think part of it is here in the US we've got such a "do it yourself" culture. All of the stories of self-made men bringing themselves up out of the dirt and ashes to become awesome, shining beacons of success. Those ads with that guy--"They made their money the old-fashioned way; they EARNED it." **** that ****

People that irritate me the most are ones that wallow in their own helplessness and don't reach out for help that is readily available. We're going through a family situation right now that is the epitome of this and it's very angry-making. All of us here saw a problem, identified it and obtained a lasting solution. It doesn't matter what the solution was, it just matters that it worked.

I haven't had anyone tell me to my face that I took the easy way out (something that amazes me), but whenever I see someone being accused of it online, I always think, "And when was the last time you took your laundry out to the river and beat them on a rock? How's that dishwasher working out for you?"

It's stupid and pointless and exposes small-minded people for what they are. Pay them no mind.

It is that people are uneducated. They have NO clue what you went through, and they have no way to relate it to themselves. The "you must have cheated" attitude is because your weight loss was rapid and it is staying off. The fact that to do so you under went major surgery, were on a starvation diet for months, and exercise like you are trying to become an Olympian is unseen and unknowable to the majority.

I, who am on my own journey through a similar woods, can see the lions, tigers and bears (oh my!) that you may have had to cope with too. This is true for the rest of us on this forum.

I choose to not be angry at the others, but rather sorry for them that they choose to be unenlightened. I choose not to waste energy on their ignorance. If they want to know more, they will politely ask. If not then I will not get angry with them, because they are not worth my energy.

It is good that you are proud of your success! Reli**** and don't let the *******s wear you down.

My surgeon was a polite, studious-looking man. When I brought up the 'wrong way-right way' argument, he said, 'You had a surgical treatment for a medical problem. Tell 'em to pound sand.'

I fight badgers with spoons.
