Thread Take OVER: Sweat today, Smile tomorrow!
Lots to say on this one!
First-have you seen the Fitness Marshall on youtube? He creates these awesome dances to the latest popular music and the people doing it with him (his backup booties) are of all ages and sizes. He is very inclusive.
Next-I gotta get going on the stationary bike. I dont want to-but I had hand surgery and they really dont want me falling on my hand. I am a bit of a klutz and if I were to normal bike -I would probably tip over! I would have to have a REALLY bad day to crash a stationary bike, but I supposed I could.
Third-great cousin for giving you a treadmill!

Three pounds below Goal!!! Yay !
Today is a gym day. Stair stepper for 25 minutes and arms/abs will be my weight focus. I toyed with not going since I had to walk 8 blocks to and from the mechanic today- but the week will be crazy so I need to get it in where I can.

Today was an hour of TRX. It's a little crazy, but fun -- only 4 of us and a really great workout.
Tomorrow, I fence - en garde - for 2-2.5 hours. Did the same on Monday. Thursday is a rest day. Friday I do agility and strength training with my trainer (arms strength, legs agility). Saturday will be cardio and legs. Sunday is rest.
Keep on losing!

SparkleKitty, you will love RAGBRAI. I've been on the weeklong ride about 7-8 times. It is a hard ride due to the hills and heat/humidity, but the people of Iowa are just fantastic. Most of the little towns, people sit on the side of the road and clap when you enter their city. It makes you feel like a rockstar.
Kathy, you should visit a site that I read everyday. It is called crazyguyonabike.com. It has thousands of journals of people of bicycling trips. I do a search and look for single woman because that is how I will bicycle. My husband only cycles a few miles. I will be cycling across the United States. I purchased the maps from San Diego to Florida from an organization that has 3 routes aross the US and many others. That site is adventurecycling.org. I planned on riding the Southern Tier this fall, but my kids plans might interfere with mine.
Today 6 miles of trail walking with 35 min of slow jogging. It is the Yellow mountain bike trail at Island Lake State Park in Michigan.

Hi Lynn,
I love that website and read a lot of the blogs. So excited for you about your upcoming cycling tour; OMG, how awesome! Will you be blogging or vlogging your journey? i'd love to follow you, if so.
I'm nowhere near fit enough to do something like that yet. Next summer I'm planning to ride to my best friend's house, which is about 180 km from mine, which a real cyclist could do in 2 days but will likely take me 4 or 5 days, lol. I should be at my goal weight by next summer. I'll just have to buy new tires for my bike because a large part of that route is on gravel and my bike doesn't do well on gravel (unless it's very compacted).
Have you seen the blog called Going Slowly? it's about a young couple who cycled all over the place: Europe, Asia, etc. I love it.

Kathy, I searched crazyguy for that journal and could not find it. Bicycle touring is not about being athletic, it is mostly about being a head game. Having all day to ride about 50 miles is not that difficult after the first couple of weeks. The hard part is the mental game, just doing it day after day. If you can ride your heavy bike 32km you are ready.
I don't plan on blogging. I don't even remember how to post pics on this site. I think I will do a search, then get distracted, then forget. I haven't even posted a pic after losing weight, duh.

Wow!! Thank you for putting this out there on my day of surgery!! There are more replys then when I do the post, hmmmmmm... lol!
I was so glad to see this hijack of my post, it means alot to me that you carried on.
Good job everyone-still a few weeks before I will be sweating to smile, but i am SMILING none-the-less!
