Good! Your surgeon sounds like a jerk, so I'm happy you don't need to see him!

Im not sure that an excellent surgeon (cutter) has to have great bedside manner. Mine does, but given the choice I want an excellent surgeon to do the surgery and someone else can do my followup care

best wishes for your weight loss journey

GAH! Same reason I avoid the dentist; the hygienist always chastises me. Weird; I had a dream about yelling at students last night and realized it does no good at all. I don't yell at students, even though sometimes I want to. I'm glad you see a more supportive professional from now on. You do have to go back for check-ups. That is key, I think. Keep up the good work. One day at a time, as they say.

I will never understand why some supposed professionals feel that shame is a valid teaching tool.

Hold your head high. Your doctor is a douche bag. No one should belittle you.

When you go back try to schedule with the nurse. Also you can tell your doctor that he is a jerk. But in a nicer way.

WOW sounds like my doctor! The first time I met him he told me he was an A-hole. I did not disagree. I sat there and listened to him belittle me through several appointments and tell me how pissed off he would be if I gained weight back.

Normally I would verbally rip his sack off but I smiled and nodded knowing this was my opportunity of a lifetime and while I did not like this man personally, he might be a good doctor. Not to mention he did hold the power of whether or not I got my surgery over me. I just continue to keep my eye on the prize. Good health, smaller clothes, and a happier me.
