10 months post op before and after
I took this picture last month/10 months post op. Until I put my pictures side by side I did not realize what a difference 10 months has made. I am down 90 lbs since my highest weight and feeling amazing. My health has improved tremendously in terms of my triglycerides, they are down (was 580 last yr now down to 145), I was borderline diabetic a yr ago and my cholesterol was very high but now they are both normal. My vitamin levels are all normal except for my vitamin D, which I now take on top of my regular vitamin regimen (Nascobal B12 and Bariactive multi, Calcium D3 magnesium, iron). My surgery went amazingly well, very minimal pain (took 1 pain pill after leaving hospital). While in the hospital I walked 1 mile the 1st day and 4 miles throughout the 2nd day. I stayed active from the day that I left the hospital. The hardest thing for me was the first 2 weeks after surgery being on a liquid diet, mentally I don't think I was quite prepared although I went to meetings and spk to a therapist. I believe the reason for this was that I thought that after the surgery that I wouldn't feel hungry at all but in my case I was one of the ones that did. To be honest, I think it was more head hunger than anything. I only wish that I had done this years ago but my insurance through my job did not cover wls. Luckily my new husbands insurance did. My journey is not over yet, I am 20 lbs from the goal weight that my Dr give me and I am hoping to lose even more. I started working out at the gym last week. Hopefully I will hit my goal weight within the next few months.
It did post, not sure why Kathy couldn't see it. Awesome job!
