It could be a placebo affect but magnesium works great for me to prevent sore muscles after the gym.

So it is a placebo effect but magnesium is good for you for many other reasons. :)

I swear, Mg works wonders for me, too. I take Mg Citrate and Glycinate -- I haven't had a leg cramp in two years since three weeks after starting them. I use the Mg oil on my shoulders and neck -- and believe it or not, on my jaw because I have bruxism. It makes a huge difference for me.

What brand of Mg do you take? I want to try it.

I started out using NOW Magnesium Citrate:

But it was expensive, since I usually take about 600 mg a day (3) -- so I've been using the bulk form (1/4 tsp = 831 mg):

and I take 1-2 (400 mg for TWO) Magnesium Glycinate at night before bed:

and this is the Mg Oil I use topically:

I buy a lot of my supplements and nootropics in bulk now. It's cheaper and easier to control the dosages.

I absolutely have to supplement Mg or I get terrible leg cramps. I'm not sure if the turmeric was actually doing anything for me, but I'll probably finish out the bottle I have.
