In Vegas, BABY!

So much FOOD! I would love to eat, but I can't, and for the first time since my surgery, I'm getting a sense of what "life" is going to be like from here on. Went to the pool. Sitting among the scrawny bodies in their thong bikinis just made me come back up to the room. We walked all day yesterday and my legs are sore, sore, sore. Well, I know I'm not working toward that stick figure that looks like a preying mantis in a swimsuit---genetically impossible. Owning the fat gene sucks. But, one day not too far down the road, I will be a smaller version of my voluptuous shape. I will still be stocky and big legged, but hopefully, I will be able to walk Vegas in the heat without nearly wanting to die!
Glad you are enjoying Vegas, but I was just going to say you never know what kind of body you will have in the end... If you actually plan on reaching a normal BMI or bidyfat I doubt you will be stocky.

Your genetics don't make you fat. You can achieve exactly what you want to achieve with the help of your tool.
Referring to women as praying mantises is very degrading--keep in mind how you would like to be described. A lot of folks on these boards have been called gaunt once they lost weight and it's not a nice thing to hear.

Following one of my massive diets about 12 years ago, when I'd brought myself down from 330 to 150, my son, who lives 3,000 miles away and who hadn't seen me for several months, told me I looked like Cruella DeVille. I told him I thought that was kind of a "cruella" thing to say! Luckily, my face softened after a few months, but I know I have looked noticeably gaunt as I have approached goal in the past.

It was fun! Overwhelming, but fun. Don't know about the legalities of MJ. For the sake of my husband, who is a disabled vet and suffers debilitating chronic pain--and also for the sake of all who would benefit from the medicinal properties---I do wish medicinal MJ were legal nationwide. We did walk and walk and walk, so that was good. And we came out "ahead" on the bit of gambling we did. It was my first time to see the strip. It was a challenge to navigate the "food" situations on the trip. I am glad to be home (just now) where I can get back on a strict vitamin and protein regimen.
I would so agree with NYMom22! I always called myself "inverted triangle" because I hated the fact I was "apple shaped" (ie: round). I'm within 10lbs of goal now and everyone describes me as slender. I just bought a size 5r at Hollister in super skinny jeans (and I still weigh more than 150lbs). I expect I will be truly small once I have my excess skin on my stomach removed.
My sister is tall/skinny and always has been and people are mistaking me for her now!
