flushing, not as bad as a hot flash, but irritating...

I've searched the forums and only found things about the tie to food allergies and niacin. I'm not talking any vitamin B or b complex right now, but I'm regularly flushing in my face, neck and chest region. It seems to happen randomly, not right after a meal. Any thoughts? I've also been very fatigued lately. No fever, no swollen glands, just this fatigue and flushing...

Any ideas???

Fatigue and flushing sounds a little like anemia, have you had your blood levels checked recently? If it continues it wouldn't hurt to check in with your PCP.

I have been remiss in taking my iron lately... I'll double down on that and see if things improve!

For what it's worth, iron is not the only thing that can cause anemia and taking too much iron when your body doesn't need it can cause serious health problems. Best to get your levels checked for a proper diagnosis if you're concerned about anemia.

I agree with Gwen, getting your blood levels done first is a good idea. Hope you start to feel better soon!!

I have had this experience - especially during the night. Best to ask your doctor, but some theorize that its sort of a hormone dump as fat cells contain estrogen and losing weight results in more estrogen circulating or something like that. Sort of like menopause hot flashes. I just live with it as it has gradually decreased over time. Diane S

Could be due to the alcohol you've been consuming. I know a number of people who experience that when they drink.

OMG, I am part Japanese, and I suffer from "Asian Flush" -- also known as Alcohol Flush Syndrome. After testing at the Cleveland Clinic, it was explained to me that I do not metabolize alcohol efficiently. It's one of many reasons that I do not drink.
